Starting school is a milestone filled with excitement for most five‑year‑olds. But for Archer’s parents, Ben and Leane, this moment was overshadowed by worry.
When it came time to reviewing schools, Ben and Leane reached out to Epilepsy Action Australia for guidance. Archer had been in daycare, but school came with new challenges: less supervision, larger class sizes, unfamiliar routines and a lot of information to absorb.
Our specialist epilepsy nurse, Tina, worked closely with the family to create Archer’s Epilepsy Management Plan - a clear and practical guide so teachers and staff know exactly what to do if Archer has a seizure.
Archer has had a wonderful start to the new school year, making friends, drawing pictures, and exploring the playground. But most importantly, he’s beginning school with a plan that helps keep him safe and, in an environment, where he can thrive.
Your support today will help more families, just like Archer’s, start school feeling safe, supported, and confident.
